Setting Up and Using the Microsoft Dynamics Integration

The Microsoft Dynamics Integration allows you to export approved invoices from DPO directly to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Before invoices can be exported, the Dynamics connection must first be configured in DPO. This requires information from both Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Note: Administrator access may be required to configure the integration and obtain the necessary Microsoft credentials.

Connect DPO with Microsoft Dynamics

To set up the integration, go to:

Settings → Dynamics
The setup page guides you through the connection process.

Step 1: Enter the Microsoft Tenant ID

Enter your Microsoft Tenant ID.
You can find the Tenant ID in: Azure Portal → Microsoft Entra ID → Overview → Tenant ID

Step 2: Enter the Dynamics Company ID

Enter the Dynamics Company ID of the company you want to connect with DPO.
You can find the Company ID in: Dynamics 365 Business Central → Companies → Company ID

Step 3: Enter the Application (Client) ID

Enter the Application (Client) ID of the registered application used for the DPO connection.
You can find it in: Azure Portal → Microsoft Entra ID → App Registrations → Your App → Application (Client) ID

Step 4: Enter the Client Secret

Enter the Client Secret associated with the registered application.
You can find it in:Azure Portal → Microsoft Entra ID → App Registrations → Your App → Certificates & Secrets → Client Secret

Step 5: Connect to Dynamics

Once all required information has been entered, click Connect to Dynamics.
After a successful connection, DPO displays the User Connection Status as Connected together with the configured connection information.

Export Invoices to Dynamics

Once the connection has been established, invoices can be exported from DPO to Dynamics.

Step 1: Create a New Export

  1. Click "+Create Export Batch".
  2. DPO will open the Select Batch for Dynamics Export window.

Step 2: Select Invoices

The export window displays the invoices currently available for export.
You can:

  • Use Filter invoices to find a specific invoice.
  • Review the Supplier.
  • Review the Invoice Number.
  • Check the Invoice Date.
  • Review the Total Gross amount.
  • Select one or multiple invoices for export.

Step 3: Export the Batch
Select the invoices you want to transfer and click Export Batch.

DPO will then process the selected invoices and transfer the applicable invoice data to Dynamics.

Export History

Previous Dynamics exports are displayed under Exports History.

For each export session, DPO shows information such as:

  • Session number
  • Export date and time
  • Transfer status
  • Number of successfully processed invoices

For example:
Transfer Status: Success (1/1) indicates that one out of one invoice in the export session was successfully processed.

View Export Details

Click Details next to an export session to review more information about the export.
I would add a screenshot of the Details view here if you have one. This would be particularly useful if it shows the status/error for each invoice.

Revoke an Export

If an invoice needs to be exported again, the previous export can be revoked.

  1. Locate the relevant session under Exports History.
  2. Click Revoke.
  3. Confirm the action if prompted.

After the export has been revoked, the invoice can be included in a new export batch when applicable.

Disconnect Dynamics

If the existing Dynamics connection is no longer required, it can be disconnected from DPO.

  1. Go to Settings → Dynamics.
  2. Review the current User Connection Status.
  3. Click Disconnect.

Only disconnect the integration if the existing Dynamics connection should no longer be used for invoice exports.
