DATEV Set up

To connect DPO and DATEV, you need the DATEV Unternehmen online and DATEV Buchungsdatenservice applications. If these two programmes are active under your “Beraternummer”, they can set up the connection in DPO.


Follow these steps


Step 1

To open the DATEV settings, go to the Admin section from DPO in the navigation menu on the left-hand side, select “DATEV.” This will display all DATEV-related settings and export functions in one place.


 



Step 2 → Connect to DATEV

In the DATEV section, click on the Connect to DATEV button. This will initiate the connection process, allowing the system to exchange data with your DATEV account.

 




Step 3 → Login to DATEV


When you click Connect to DATEV, you will be redirected to the DATEV website. Log in with your DATEV credentials, and once the connection is confirmed, DPO will automatically reopen.

 






Step 4

Select your “Beraternummer” and “Mandantennummer”  you want to connect the DPO and DATEV client to.

 





 Step 5 → Confirm the Connection


After DPO automatically reopens, the active DATEV connection will be visible under DPO > Admin > DATEV.

 





Step 6 → Enter the Fiscal Year and Account Length


First, set your „Wirtschaftsjahr” fiscal year Start and then add the account length (SKR03 or SKR04).

Please make sure that the fiscal year Start match in both systems. Otherwise, invoices cannot be sent from DPO to DATEV.

 




Step 7 → Export Invoices


Below your active DATEV connection, you will see the New Export section. To start an export, click on Queue Now, after which all approved invoices will be listed. These can be selected all or only partially for export to DATEV.


 



Then click on Export Batch and the export will start.

 

Step 8


Under Session details, you can see which invoices have been exported to DATEV.






Step 9

The invoice PDFs are now automatically sent to a folder for your individual companie (Beraternummer) and the accounting entries (Buchungssätze) are sent to the DATEV data center (Rechenzentrum). These are then available for retrieval in your DATEV workstation (DATEV Arbeitsplatz).


 

Fetch the invoices in DATEV

and prepare them for posting 


Step 1

Open your client in the workspace (DATEV Arbeitsplatz).


Step 2

Go to “Add client” (Mandanten ergänzen) and retrieve the data from the data center (Rechenzentrum). 


Step 3

Wait until the data has been retrieved, then go to Post documents (Belege buchen) and click on Add
